The skeletal ancient cat comes to visit while Lane during the stressful final weeks of the term.  Two weeks, 150 assignments -- and somehow Lane pulled it off.  (6/1/22)

Catching up on all the new Star Wars and Star Trek that happened during Furlandia and while we were too busy afterward.  (6/1/22)

Going for a scooter ride along the river.  (6/2/22)

Lane finds a nice place to stop for a while on our river walk.  (6/2/22)

Communing with the ducks.  (6/2/22)

Learning about how to skip rocks.  (6/2/22)

Lee gives up on skipping rocks and just looks for the ones that will make the biggest splashes.  (6/2/22)

Sifting through a bag of treats designed to help keep Lane able to focus on schoolwork.  (6/4/22)

Carefully building a tower.  (6/5/22)

We return to feed the ducks.  (6/5/22)

Lane mixed up a special blend for them of oatmeal, rice, frozen peas, and chopped lettuce.  (6/5/22)

In order to help Lane focus on schoolwork during these critical final weeks, we kept sending Daniel off to buy various treats and sending Lee with him to keep the house less chaotic.  (6/6/22)

When Lane got down to only ten assignments left, they put a bandage on each finger.  (6/6/22)

Lane planned to remove a bandage each time they finished an assignment.  (6/6/22)

Lane gets back to work, and I try to keep Lee from causing too much chaos and noise.  (6/6/22)

Stopping to enjoy the dinosaur garden.  (6/6/22)

Stopping to take a picture of a sign that reads, "You can't hide your big heart from me."  Is it sweet?  Or is it ominous?  (6/6/22)

The day was drizzly, but we still managed to get outside and roast some s'mores.  (6/7/22)

Once again, "oopsie woopsies!"  (6/8/22)

Lee writes a letter to the tooth fairy, asking her if she likes Minecraft.  (6/8/22)

Skateboarding is tricky, but Lee is getting better.  (6/8/22)

Live action Minecraft -- after punching a bunch of trees, Lee tamed a wolf!  (6/8/22)

Theresa engages in her favorite activity -- stealing water -- while Lane engages in a least favorite activity -- creating slide shows.  (6/8/22)

Lee enjoys a birthday-eve smoothie, and crawls into the driver's seat every time Daniel gets out of the car.  (6/9/22)

Lee carefully arranges Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, and Metal Sonic on an Angel Island food cake.  (6/10/22)

Lee made sure to set it up so that the good guys on the cake were chasing down the bad guy.  (6/10/22)

Lee prepares to open presents, surrounded by a blue spheres level.  Several of them, as requested, are punchable presents.  (6/10/22)

Lee brings their new companion cube out to help fight the boss from Act 1 of Studiopolis in Sonic Mania.  (6/10/22)

Lee starts out by punching the badnik, just like Sonic would.  (6/10/22)

After punching for a while, we switched to weaponry.  (6/10/22)

The arms and legs came off quickly, but the core robot body lasted a long time before revealing the surprises inside.  (6/10/22)

As we sang, "Happy birthday to Hazelcat4!", the palm trees caught on fire, just like in the second act of Angel Island Zone.  (6/10/22)

Playing together with the little figures from the Angel Island food cake.  (6/10/22)

Lee figure that with this many balloons, we must have a balloon fight.  (6/10/22)

But first an intermission to Upstart Crow for the Stage Door end-of-year performance...  (6/10/22)

Lane performed in several group numbers, and also starred as J.D. in a duet of "Seventeen" from Heathers.  (6/10/22)

Finally it's time for the promised balloon fight.  (6/10/22)

Reading some of the new books they got for their birthday.  (6/12/22)

Playing video games together.  (6/13/22)

Just two kids on a playground at sunset.  (6/14/22)

Say goodbye to the long hair...  (6/14/22)

Back during the end of the term, we scheduled a hair appointment to look forward to...  (6/16/22)

...it turned out to be a 3.5 hour, multi-stage process, but the results are spectacular.  (6/16/22)

Late birthday presents are an exciting surprise.  (6/16/22)

Sunset spectacular, even better upside down, or so I hear.  (6/16/22)

A different way to experience the sunset -- by capturing it.  (6/16/22)

Lee likes this new game -- photographing things.  (6/16/22)

This is mine.  (6/16/22)

Taking a break from watching Star Wars to act out some Star Wars.  (6/17/22)

Lee got invited to a spectacular party.  (6/18/22)

This little fairy enjoyed Faerie Worlds until they got very hungry.  (6/19/22)

Checking out the new shade structure for the hot tub.  (6/20/22)

Communing with the roses.  Lane blends in with them now.  (6/20/22)

After much waiting, Lee is finally able to join the Covid-booster club.  It's good to get them better protected before Jedi summer camp.  (6/22/22)

A tired tangle.  (6/23/22)

More light saber battles.  (6/24/22)

Kids in the trees.  No parents allowed up here.  (6/24/22)

We've been living and breathing Star Wars, watching through the entire trilogy of trilogies in preparation for Lee's Jedi summer camp at Upstart Crow.  (6/25&26/22)

Enjoying a lovely morning next door at Grand Janet's.  (6/26/22)

Taking a break from hiking to enjoy our dogs and photograph the scenery.  (6/28/22)

Preparing shave ice after a hot day... and Avery very much wants to participate.  Her day was hot too.  (6/28/22)
