My two perfect kids.  (7/3/22)

It's good to get out on a hike sometimes.  (7/4/22)

There's nothing better for a hot day than having a water battle with an orange Sheltie.  (7/4/22)

Lighting some sparklers.  (7/4/22)

Casting spells of sparks and smoke.  (7/4/22)

Brightening the night.  (7/4/22)

The shoe slide at the Enchanted Forest:  fun for all ages.  (7/5/22)

We got all day ride bracelets, so we got to try out some of the rides we've never tried before...  (7/5/22)

The one-way nature of the bumper cars makes them more fun than the ones at the fair.  Lane especially liked the haunted mansion, and Lee liked shooting dragons in Challenge of Mondor.  (7/5/22)

'Twas a magical time, and Lee didn't want to leave.  In fact, weeks later, they're still wearing the all-day ride bracelet to remind themself of the fun we had.  (7/5/22)

Hazel isn't sure about this.  She doesn't understand how huggable she is.  (7/7/22)

Trampoline time is even more fun and chaotic when we all get out there at once.  (7/9/22)

There were some fascinating things to see at the Oregon Country Fair.  (7/10/22)

This snail had a periscope inside it.  (7/10/22)

It was a big, confusing place, and as we went along, Lee ran out of legs to stand on and had to recruit some replacements.  (7/10/22)

Lee in their natural, unnatural environment.  (7/12/22)

Avery and Lee pose next to their portraits of Sonic.  Avery may have had some help from Lane drawing hers, which is the one on the right.  (7/12/22)

Feeding a giraffe!!!  (7/14/22)

As we drove around the Wildlife Safari loop, Lee invited all the animals to friend them in Fortnite.  (7/14/22)

Our treasures from the day -- sparkly plushies and original artwork we watched a tiger paint for us.  (7/14/22)

The kids scuffle and cause trouble while I'm trying to watch Camelot with my friend Alexis.  (7/15/22)

The teddy bear picnic is one of the best events of the entire year, and it's so much better in person.  (7/16/22)

Wandering through the neighborhood with dogs and bikes.  (7/16/22)

Playing Flux at Grand Janet's house.  (7/17/22)

Grand Janet's house has different toys...  (7/17/22)

So much like me.  (7/18/22)

Little Minecraft people made of Legos.  (7/19/22)

Struggling over a plastic knife while watching the first of many Hitchcock movies.  (7/19/22)

Making crafts at Washington Park.  (7/19&20/22)

Perfectly cracking an egg.  (7/20/22)

Learning to make waffle batter.  (7/20/22)

Because sometimes you need waffles for dinner.  (7/20/22)

We went to the fair in the evening, planning to do only the essential things.  Like ride the scrambler.  (7/21/22)

The horses were unusually friendly this year.  Especially the one on the left, named Hank.  (7/21/22)

Hopped up on sugar from a ridiculously large strawberry-lemonade, Lee seems to have mistaken me for a snack.  (7/21/22)

And back to the scrambler.  (7/21/22)

After listening to a guy teach us about octopuses for a quarter of an hour, we got to go meet this wonderful guy...  (7/23/22)

This is an octopus named Tiberius.  He was super friendly.  (7/23/22)

We got to spend half an hour letting him hold our arms.  It's the best thing that's ever happened.  (7/23/22)

Some of us had more trouble saying goodbye than others...  (7/23/22)

Some of us moved on faster than others.  (7/23/22)

Two green creatures connecting across atmospheres.  (7/23/22)

Lane was mesmerized by the jellies and other creatures.  Lee less so.  (7/23/22)

They both loved taking pictures of the marvelous sea creatures; Lee also liked posing for them.  (7/23/22)

Some of us never wanted to leave.  (7/23/22)

It's nice to spend a half hour on the beach before driving home from the coast.  Lane could stand in the freezing water for hours.  (7/23/22)

Lee got too cold and after chasing this bird switched to running around in the sand.  (7/23/22)

Wrapping presents for Lane's birthday.  Lee mostly did the ribbons.  (7/25/22)

Facing off against Ghost-Face.  (7/27/22)

A simple chocolate cake, adorned with yellow flowers.  (7/27/22)

Bananagrams and flower tea.  (7/27/22)

Singing to the skeleton cat.  (7/27/22)

Theresa doesn't know why the children sing to her.  Such strange weather.  (7/27/22)

Xanadu!  (7/29/22)

As soon as the show was over, Lee ran up and presented Lane with a bouquet of sunflowers.  (7/29/22)

A fancy tea party to celebrate the newly-fifteen-year-old.  (7/30/22)

Lee enjoys Beatles Rock Band a lot more than Piper does.  (7/31/22)
