A rare moment when Lee's hair is entirely brushed.  (5/7/22)

We needed a really fun distraction from the world, so we decided to have Sonic Weekend.  (5/7/22)

The kids wore their Sonic costumes; we played Sonic Mania and watched both Sonic movies; and we ate lots of ring-shaped foods.  (5/7/22)

Checking on the star-base to make sure we're still safe from that alien invasion.  (5/7/22)

A lovely card from my kitty-cat child.  (5/8/22)

The bees are here!  (5/12/22)

Moving the bees into their new hive.  (5/14/22)

The queen is Donna; the workers Sophie; the drones are various Sams, Bills, and Harrys; and the hive is Kalokairi.  As Lane finished with the bees, they said, "I'm gonna be your best friend, okay?  Or some weird Eldritch god." (5/14/22)

Lee finds a pill bug.  (5/14/22)

Whenever we go to the car, Lee likes to go out behind the garage and check on the Sophies.  (5/15/22)

It's pretty exciting to have ten thousand pets.  (5/15/22)

Bees!  (5/15/22)

After an exciting day that included sending Otters In Space 4 to my publisher and winning an Ursa Major Award, the universe decided to celebrate my successes with a lunar eclipse, which we went up to the reservoir to see.  The kids found it underwhelming, but I appreciated the universe's gesture.  (5/15/22)

The Hawthorne trees are in bloom, and their blooms look like tiny, perfect bouquets.  (5/16/22)

Lee was given a choice about how they wanted to be taken to bed -- right side up or upside down.  They chose upside down.  (5/18/22)

Resting.  (5/19/22)

Lane dictates; I type; and writing assignments get done.  (5/20/22)

Time to practice skateboarding.  (5/20/22)

Lee's getting better, but turning is still tricky.  (5/20/22)

Prancing and rolling.  (5/21/22)

Leaping practic.  (5/22/22)

"Oopsie woopsies!"  (5/23/22)

Lane receives glowing feedback from the creative writing class teacher.  (5/25/22)

I brought back tiny crocheted animals for the kids from Furlandia, made by a writer friend.  A polar bear for Lane, tiny kitty for Lee, and an otter for myself.  (5/29/22)

It's good to be back home.  (5/29/22)

Cuddly little one.  (5/30/22)

Lee still loves pickles.  (5/30/22)

Amy helps out with Lane's schoolwork.  She's a very smart dog.  (5/30/22)
