Starting the day with some coffee before heading out to the Paris streets.  (9/10/25)

We went out seeking French toy stores and found a card game inspired by escape rooms in a Nature and Discovery shop.  (9/10/25)

Lane ponders whether he knows enough French to get a job that requires speaking French, and Lee turns into a gargoyle.  (9/10/25)

We made it to the Louvre two hours early.  (9/10/25)

Waiting out our last few minutes before our entrance time at an underground Starbucks.  (9/10/25)

Time to go into the Louvre!  Though, Lee would probably have preferred to keep playing this arcade game in the toy store we found in the underground mall where the Louvre entrance hides.  (9/10/25)

Most of the things in the Louvre can't be touched, but this mold of a helmet was an exception.  Also, these dice are very, very old.  (9/10/25)

Pondering a statue of Athena, goddess of wisdom and war.  (9/10/25)

Boy strangling goose and tiger, tiger, burning bright... as tigers are wont to do.  (9/10/25)

We weren't even trying and we found the prize at the center of this giant, maze-like palace of a museum.  (9/10/25)

We saw Britain's oldest door... but this door is probably older and definitely heavier.  (9/10/25)

Trying to puzzle out the bewildering map of the Louvre without much luck.  (9/10/25)

Huzzah!  We found our way to the other wing and found this guy who looks like we should either kill him in Diablo or take a rubbing of his shield like Indian Jones.  (9/10/25)

All in all, the Louvre was a chaotic place -- only half the staff came in, so they kept shutting off wings and eventually closed an hour early.  However, we were out pretty late as it was, and so maybe that wasn't such a bad thing.  We had a long walk home.  (9/10/25)

The Museum of Illusion.  (9/11/25)

Walking into a world of mirrors, we become a crowd.  (9/11/25)

Kaleidoscopic Lee.  (9/11/25)

Heads on platters.  (9/11/25)

Lane becomes a hobbit, and Lee becomes pocket sized -- but still fierce!  (9/11/25)

Upside down world and solving puzzles together.  (9/11/25)

A twisting wormhole tunnel.  (9/11/25)

Figuring out how to take the Paris metro.  (9/11/25)

The waiter complimented Lee on ordering the most delicious thing on the menu -- black truffle ravioli.  (9/11/25)

The Paris Catacombs.  (9/11/25)

"Stop!  This is the empire of the dead."  (9/11/25)

After the catacombs, we walked through many parks, culminating in the Luxembourg Gardens, and finally a macaron shop.  Along the way, Lee collected chestnuts.  (9/11/25)

Lane successfully ordered macarons in French.  Their signature flavor was Marie Antoinette and tasted pleasantly like tea.  (9/11/25)

The oldest tree in Paris and an even older cathedral.  (9/11/25)

Walks along the Seine, laughing in the rain...  Moments before this, we were perfectly framed by a rainbow.  (9/11/25)

For our final meal in Paris, we sought out a pho shop.  It was a good call.  (9/11/25)

Stretching out noodles and chasing after pigeons.  (9/11/25)

Lee practices some more and less useful skills.  (9/11/25)

Lee traveled all day to get home to this cat.  (9/12/25)

Jet lag hits hard.  (9/12/25)

Annie grew while we were away.  (9/14/25)

Chewing on the kitten while the kitten chews back.  (9/16/25)

Proud kitten owner.  (9/17/25)

We brought Julian over for a play date with Annie.  He did not understand.  (9/17/25)

Shrimp tacos!  (9/17/25)

Julian still doesn't understand these play dates, but after a few more times, he at least started getting comfortable with them.  (9/18/25)

This sort of event is really more entertaining for the humans involved than the cats...  (9/18/25)

Lane made a feast of vegetables and dips.  (9/21/25)

Researching new costume ideas online, since our thrift store searches ended up being uninspiring.  (9/21/25)

The centerpiece of Lee's Halloween costume arrived, and the transformation into Calvin happened instantly.  (9/23/25)

Researching the role.  (9/23/25)

Assembling a little red wagon for Hobbes.  (9/26/25)

Soccer star.  (9/26/25)
