Julian missed us while we were gone and is toying with the idea of becoming a lap cat.  (5/12/25)

Kelly has been a very good cat.  (5/13/25)

Going on one last adventure, looking out the window at the scenery going by.  (5/13/25)

Lane sang "Mamma Mia" to Kelly until she fell asleep.  (5/13/25)

We still have a lot of good animals.  (5/15/25)

Hannah utterly adored Julian as a new kitten, but now that the little cat returns her affections, she doesn't know what to do with him.  (5/15/25)

Even with one star fewer, our constellation shines brightly.  (5/15/25)

At the zoo, we always go straight to the otters, but today, all of the animals were cooperating, so we'd already seen some pretty good mountain goats, bears, and eagles.  (5/19/25)

The baby elephant hassled her tired mom until she was forced to get up.  (5/19/25)

The elephants were very good today.  (5/19/25)

This orangutan doesn't go anywhere without her blanket cloak.  "Their eyes look like my eyes."  (5/19/25)

We watched the seals float about like upside down torpedoes.  (5/19/25)

Enter the kaleidoscope and see the fish people.  (5/19/25)

Hanging out with a giraffe.  (5/19/25)

Yes, the giraffe is still there.  (5/19/25)

The only animal that wasn't out when we came by was the tiger, so we swung by on the way out, and... lo and behold, tiger!  (5/19/25)

The kid who dips fried fish in strawberry shake thinks that maybe raspberry and lemonade flavors clash.  (5/19/25)

We rode home from the zoo sipping boba drinks and listening to Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.  (5/19/25)

Playing Stardew Valley ensemble en francais.  (5/20/25)

Kid in hiding.  (5/21/25)

Totally relaxed.  (5/21/25)

After hanging out in the trees, Lee tries hanging out with the dogs and gets an idea...  (5/21/25)

Lee becomes a matador, but Avery isn't so sure that she's a bull.  (5/21/25)

Lee discovers tennis balls lying around all over the dog park, and Avery much prefers this game.  (5/21/25)

Lee kicks the balls...  (5/21/25)

...and Avery chases them.  She doesn't fetch them.  But she does chase them.  (5/21/25)

All tired out but totally uninterested in going to bed.  (5/21/25)

Julian loves chewing on sparkly, dangly things.  He's always been a bitey little fellow.  (5/22/25)

Lane and I are getting close to the end of Skeleton Cat, while Lee plays games with friends.  (5/26/25)

Lee designed an experiment for science class to see if cotton balls or cloth make a better water filter and learned that not only is the cloth more effective, it's also faster and loses less water to absorption.  Science!  (5/29/25)

Avery does not want to help with math.  (5/29/25)

Hannah is thrilled to help with math!  This is helping, right?  (5/29/25)

Hannah fits here, right?  Right???  We wouldn't forget to leave room for Hannah?!?  (5/29/25)

Lee is bewildered to discover an origami cat inside the early birthday present they've worked so hard to earn by finishing all their schoolwork for the end of the semester...  (5/30/25)

...but once unfolded, the origami cat reveals a coupon for a one-month membership to the Defy trampoline park.  (5/30/25)

Practicing soccer kicks.  (5/31/25)
