Getting the swim spa set up has required many trips to the hardware store.  (7/1/23)

There've also been a lot of guys around doing work in both our yards.  Sometimes they use fun tools.  (7/2/23)

This is a kid with more puppy than can be held in their arms at once.  (7/2/23)

Showing off the size of their mouths.  (7/2/23)

Mutual adoration.  (7/2/23)

After months of effort...  (7/3/23)

...there is an actual swimming pool in our backyard.  (7/3/23)

'Tis the day of the year when we celebrate by holding fire in our hands.  (7/4/23)

For twenty seconds, you get to feel like a wizard casting a magic spell.  (7/4/23)

Casting spells every which way.  (7/4/23)

Hannah is good at hanging out on the floor with people.  It's one of her main areas of expertise.  (7/6/23)

Lee seems to have a puppy bigger than themself...  (7/8/23)

We went away for a four-day writing retreat, and Lee greeted me as soon as we got home and told me about the spike of wood they'd been carving.  (7/10/23)

We were getting rid of some old outgrown clothes...(7/12/23)

...and Hannah is a very chill dog.  (7/12/23)

The Shelties don't understand this nonsense.  (7/12/23)

Lane bakes cakes while Lee sharpens sticks.  (7/13/23)

Lane has been commissioned to bake a wedding cake for the release of my first book through Deep Sky Anchor Press...  (7/14/23)

Baking a wedding cake is a many step process.  (7/14/23)

You're cordially invited to read my new book, You're Cordially Invited to Crossroads Station.  (7/14/23)

This year we brought our big puppy to the Teddy Bear Picnic.  (7/15/23)

Swim spa chaos.  (7/16/23)

Hannah graduates from puppy class.  (7/18/23)

And yet, the puppy training continues...  (7/19/23)

But also, the lounging about and general camraderie.  (7/19/23)

Last year, the small animal barn at the fair closed before we got to it; so this year, we started there.  (7/20/23)

We watched the weather closely, and went to the fair on its coolest day... it was still meltingly hot.  (7/20/23)

This little dinosaur looks like it wants to escape.  (7/20/23)

Taking a break from the heat by checking out the indoor displays, which of course included some LEGOs.  (7/20/23)

A lovely, friendly horse.  (7/20/23)

They didn't have The Scrambler this year, so we rode The Tornado.  (7/20/23)

Lee didn't like how high it went in the air, so instead of riding it again, they went to do an obstacle course.  (7/20/23)

They seem to live in this obstacle course now.  (7/20/23)

Lane and I rode The Tornado again.  (7/20/23)

Hannah keeps getting taller and taller.  (7/25/23)

Playing basketball at the park with friends.  (7/26/23)

Still a lap puppy, regardless of her size.  (7/26/23)

Being a lap puppy is a poor job, but at least it's a job.  (7/26/23)

Lane began their birthday with presents.  (7/27/23)

The biggest, most surprising present...  (7/27/23)

Can Lane tame this jellyfish before it eats them?  (7/27/23)

As is becoming tradition, we celebrated Lane's birthday with a lovely tea party.  (7/27/23)

In the afternoon, we continued watching ocean horror movies, and then went on an outing to prance around the mall and buy new outfits for Lemon from Build-a-Bear.  (7/27/23)

Ordering fancy, off-the-menu drinks along with dinner at Chapala.  (7/27/23)

Dressed up and dancing along with Tayor Swift's City of Lover Concert.  (7/27/23)

Singing and dancing with Taylor.  (7/27/23)

We surprised Lane with a jellyfish cake.  (7/27/23)

Sixteen years old.  Oh yeah.  (7/27/23)

Ending the evening with a confusing game of Sabobatage.  (7/27/23)

Holding the sweet murder baby.  (7/29/23)
