Puppies are for hugging.  (11/6/21)

Though Avery isn't so sure hugs are in her job description...  (11/6/21)

Searching for lost celestial fragments at the first Eugene gem faire since the pandemic began.  (11/6/21)

We went to the thrift store and found an amazing jacket for Lee that turns into a stuffed dinosaur.  (11/8/21)

Looking like a Victorian poet in their new thrift store find -- a long-sleeved, button-down shirt, with elegant pin stripes.  (11/8/21)

Piper and Lee meow at each other.  (11/11/21)

Lee gets their first Pfizer shot!!!  (11/11/21)

All the adults at the vaccine clinic were laden with plastic toys and stickers which they offered to Lee at every turn.  They left with a whole pocketful of prizes.  (11/11/21)

Getting a fancy drink to celebrate this first step towards being vaccinated.  (11/11/21)

Picking out some fancy treats to take home and share with everyone.  (11/11/21)

Celebrating the big day.  (11/11/21)

Lane performs "Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat' from Guys & Dolls.  (11/13/21)

Lane was spectacular.  The show itself suffered some from technical difficulties, adnwe (11/13/21)

A small, elegant event, featuring chocolate cake...  (11/15/21)

...and presents, celebrating Grand Janet's 70th birthday.  (11/15/21)

Piper and Lee meow at each other.  (11/23/21)

I got out my big box of 80s forest man Legos, which had been sitting in a closet, getting dusty.  (11/23/21)

Lee was in Lego heaven.  (11/23/21)

Sir Headless, a mini-fig they'd been carrying around who had lost their head, led an army against a shark riding a dragon.  (11/23/21)

Even without a head, Sir Headless can still wear helmets, directly on his neck.  (11/24/21)

Lane prepares some apples for a pie; Avery is very interested in helping... perhaps by chewing on this apple string...  (11/24/21)

With its delicious filling prepared last night, the pie is now ready for a decorative crust.  (11/25/21)

A picture perfect caramel apple pie.  (11/25/21)

The befuddled expressions of children faced with unlabelled presents who are each convinced the blue one is for them.  (11/25/21)

Lee was right.  (11/25/21)

Either way, they both got advent calendars -- Lego superheroes for Lee, and ornament crafts for Lane.  (11/25/21)

Lee admires the perfect golden-brown turkey they will soon devour.  (11/25/21)

Fun foods:  Brussels sprouts and olives.  (11/25/21)

Hiding behind me.  My chair got kind of crowded!  (11/25/21)

We went for a walk and this book practically leapt out of the little free library on our street and into Lee's hands.  (11/25/21)

Absolutely taken with the adventures of Dog-Man.  (11/25/21)

Quiet evening activities.  (11/25/21)

After years of letting the lights out front of our house dwindle, due probably to a squirrel eating them, we decided it was time for some new ones.  (11/27/21)

Lee was very helpful putting them up, and then they threatened to eat them.  (11/27/21)

The fairy garden is back.  (11/27/21)

The last time we hiked up Spencer Butte, it was the first day of our quarantining for the pandemic.  (11/28/21)

The pandemic isn't over... but this was four days before Lee's second Pfizer shot, and ten days before Lane started back to in-person school.  (11/28/21)

The hike up was very foggy, like we were climbing through a cloud.  At the top, we stopped for snacks.  (11/28/21)

We watched the sunset play hide'n'seek with us before hiking back down.  (11/28/21)

Lane mocks their parents (and especially me) for how we've been playing Stardew Valley by bringing everyone fresh cranberries... like I'd been doing to all the characters in the game.  (11/28/21)

We'd already been reveling in Christmas lights, music, and movies for a week by the time we actually put the tree up.  (11/28/21)

Lee scurries around like an elf while Lane puts garlands on the tree.  (11/28/21)

We bought a lot of new ornaments this year, since over the previous years, our tree had grown a little threadbare, due to ancient ornaments breaking or being wantonly destroyed by pets.  (11/28/21)

With the tree up, there was a position left open in its box.  Also, Avery did not approve of this tree nonsense, and after a lot of barking, needed to be held like a funny baby to remind her of her place in the world.  (11/28/21)

Bright and shiny.  (11/28/21)

Making and eating cupcakes.  (11/29/21)

Crafts of delicious and solar proportions.  (11/30/21)
