A kid and their cat, expressing varying degrees of joy and annoyance.  (7/7/21)

Reaching for the rose, as the rose reaches for the sky.  (7/8/21)

A kid and their dog, expressing varying degrees of adoration.  (7/15/21)

Up early to watch the annual Teddy Bear Picnic over zoom, along with all our teddy bears, including Cole who definitely believes he's one of the teddy bears.  (7/17/21)

Dog training at the dog park.  (7/20/21)

The dogs were getting really jumpy about seeing other dogs and people on their walks, so we thought it'd help if they got to really meet some other dogs.  (7/20/21)

We started the dogs out at the small dog park, just to break them into the idea.  It seemed lower pressure.  But it turned out that they all preferred the big dog park anyway.  (7/20/21)

Romping and foraging.  (7/20/21)

After years of begging and a year of the fair going on hiatus, we finally got all day ride bracelets for all of us.  (7/21/21)

Of course, our first ride was the scrambler.  (7/21/21)

When the rides got overwhelming, we went to visit the horses.  (7/21/21)

The nice calm horses.  (7/21/21)

Yes, the calm, soothing horses.  (7/21/21)

And also a wild-eyed magical unicorn.  (7/21/21)

As we watched the Alaskan Racing Pigs, Lee cheered for Luke Skyporker; Lane cheered for Yukon again.  Strawberry won.  (7/21/21)

After the racing pigs, we caught a dog stunt show.  At the end, the kids got to meet the dogs.  (7/21/21)

Lee spent a lot of time building block castles, tossing balls, and running through the curtain maze.  (7/21/21)

Back to the scrambler.  (7/21/21)

Because the scrambler is the best.  (7/21/21)

Lee made heavy use of their ride bracelet.  (7/21/21)

Soooo many rides.  (7/21/21)

Lee's favorite ride was a fun house with wobbly floors, flashing lights, and farm animals playing rock music.  (7/21/21)

Pondering the Lego displays.  (7/21/21)

Lee shows off their strength and is rewarded with a Minecraft sword.  (7/21/21)

The ride bracelets included three free games.  (7/21/21)

A year and a half after originally signing up for Footloose the Musical with Upstart Crow, the show finally happened!  (7/23/21)

All the kids and adults involved were fully vaccinated, and when Lane re-auditioned, they were given a much bigger role than last time.  (7/23/21)

It was strange being in a theater watching live performances again...  But the entire audience wore masks, and it was delightful getting to see Lane sparkle as Reverend Shaw.  (7/23/21)

Bedtime is better with a puppy.  (7/24/21)

Lane cracks up over the Daganranpa themed wrapping paper for their birthday present.  (7/25/21)

Trying out the Minecraft card game that Lee got for their birthday.  (7/25/21)

Lane wanted a low-key, easy-going birthday.  And what's more low-key than a fancy, high tea?  (7/27/21)

An entire bakery in a box.  (7/27/21)

An entire book series in a bear.  Okay, well, a big a chunk of a book series.  (7/27/21)

Setting up their tiny bakery, complete with tiny baked goods.  (7/27/21)

Time for some fun errands -- we picked out scrapbooking supplies at an art store, a balloon at Hirons, a fancy drink at the Rabbit Hole, and finally a cake!  (7/27/21)

Putting the new scrapbooking supplies to good use.  (7/27/21)

Puzzling over a round of SET.  (7/27/21)

Time for a round of Mario Kart.  (7/27/21)

Carefully arranging the candles on their cake, only to have to defend them from an eager puppy.  (7/27/21)

Avery thinks that whatever Lane wished for on their cake, she's better than it.  And probably deserves a piece of cake for being so good.  (7/27/21)

An ancient and precious feline.  (7/31/21)
