Hiding behind the barky baby.  (6/4/21)

"Quick!  Exit this galaxy!" (6/4/21)

2nd Pfizer shot!  Two weeks until full vaccination!  (6/5/21)

Lane ponders what it would be like to work at Sweet Life, while we pick up celebratory black forest cupcakes.  (6/5/21)

For their birthday, Lee wants lots of Minecraft themed cardboard creatures to attack with a sword.  (6/5/21)

Lee draws a face on their ghast pinata.  (6/5/21)

"Chevron seven locking!"  (6/6/21)

Lee hasn't been able play with these fountains for... uh... possibly two years?  (6/6/21)

Theresa is not impressed by Lane's ability to make peanut butter & honey sandwiches.  She WOULD be impressed by Lane's ability to open TUNA CANS.  (6/7/21)

Theresa probably also wouldn't be impressed by Lane's cake decorating skills.  But the rest of us are.  (6/9/21)

Lee's Warcraft druid is already almost top level.  (6/9/21)

One strawberry Minecraft cake made to order.  (6/9/21)

"I'm turning 46 and a half!" Lee says as their Minecraft character eats a piece of birthday cake.  (6/10/21)

Lee played Minecraft for many hours, building a dragon watch tower, several aquariums, roller coaster, and pen for their horses.  They'd have kept playing, but we lured them away with the promise of presents, cake, and pinata.  (6/10/21)

With much coaxing, Lee agreed to take a break from Minecraft to open some presents.  Many of the presents turned out to be Minecraft themed.  (6/10/21)

Lee discovers the server loading screen on the door to the backyard, leading to their RL Minecraft Adventure!  (6/10/21)

In Minecraft, the first thing you do is punch a bunch of trees until they give you supplies.  Yes, really.  (6/10/21)

Lee converts logs into planks.  (6/10/21)

At their crafting table, Lee crafts a wooden sword out of planks and sticks.  (6/10/21)

"Oink, oink, oink," Lee says, voicing the pig.  Followed by, "Stop saying oink!  I have a sword!"  And then, "Meow, meow, meow.  What?!?!  Why would a pig say meow!"  (6/10/21)

The cave spider and zombie were demolished too quickly to get photographs of them.  They were thoroughly enjoyed.  (6/10/21)

Lee prepares to fiercely attack this ghast.  Their wolf prepares to watch from a safe distance.  (6/10/21)

A lovely kitsune appears in our fairy garden at golden hour.  (6/10/21)

True to form, after putting off opening presents all day because they were too absorbed by Minecraft, Lee barely had attention to spare for their cake, because they were already so invested in their new Minecraft Legos.  (6/10/21)

A work of digital art, featuring cat, dog, and lily pad, inspired by a photograph of Piper and Avery.  (6/16/21)

End-of-the-year reverse parade time.  (6/16/21)

We drove past all of the teachers at Lee's school.  There were bubbles, cheering, and packet of summer activities at the end.  (6/16/21)

Life is chaos, so Lane didn't realize they were about to graduate from middle school until right before we got here.  (6/17/21)

Definitely too cool for school.  (6/17/21)

For their birthday, Lee got a gift certificate to The Elephant's Trunk, and they had the best time picking out toys to buy.  (6/18/21)

They picked a sheriff badge, plush axolotl, and this dancing robot.  (6/18/21)

Like most of Lee's plushies, their new axolotl tends toward violence when playing with plushies of mine.  (6/18/21)

After much planning, much packing, and a long drive, we arrived at the coast.  (6/21/21)

Young'uns prancing in the surf.  (6/21/21)

The beach is a great place for quiet activities like reading.  (6/22/21)

Water play with the orange Sheltie.  (6/22/21)

After some reluctance about being somewhere new for the first time in ages, Lane is in their element.  (6/22/21)

Examining one of the jellies on the beach.  Also, trying to keep Avery from eating them.  (6/22/21)

Digging a very big hole in the sand.  (6/22/21)

Sand and sea.  (6/22/21)

Digging their way back out of being buried in the sand.  (6/22/21)

Five people took five dogs on a walk along the beach.  One dog per person.  Perfectly.  (6/22/21)

We had the two young'uns walk together, and they raced circles around the rest of us.  (6/22/21)

Tucked in their cozy corner of the beach house.  (6/23/21)

A rousing game of Hungry, Hungry Hippos.  (6/23/21)

"Up to the highest height!"  (6/23/21)

Building sand castles in the sand.  (6/23/21)

A rock to stand on.  (6/23/21)

Someone got tired during our evening walk along the beach.  (6/23/21)

We made it all the way to the rocks at the end of the beach.  (6/23/21)

Building barriers across the stream(6/24/21)

There was a chess set at the beach house, and the kids took an interest in playing chess.  (6/26/21)

Taking the small dogs to the small dog park.  (6/29/21)

Lane took a week long class on beekeeping.  They visited bees and built their own beehive.  Also, wrote three essays and did a whole pile of worksheets.  It was their first high school class.  (6/30/21)

Lee built a rocket with an activity kit.  Jumping on it turned out to be more effective than squeezing it.  (6/30/21)
